1. What this site is

Wing & Window is an independent publication about hummingbird feeders, nectar and feeder care, published by Slate Mill Group. Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. Our content is editorial opinion and published specification

Product recommendations here are our editorial judgment, formed from published manufacturer and retailer specifications and cited on each page. They are not professional advice and they are not test results.

We have not tested the products we recommend. We say so on every commercial page, and our full method is on the methodology page. Any score we publish is an editorial rating against our own stated criteria — not a customer rating and not a measurement.

3. Accuracy, and its limits

We source every specification and cite it, and we correct errors when they are pointed out. But manufacturers change products without notice, retailer listings vary, and prices move constantly. We do not warrant that everything here is complete, current or error-free.

Prices in particular: they render from a live data layer and expire after 48 hours, and where none is in date we say “check price” instead of guessing. Even so, the price at the retailer at the moment you buy is the only one that counts.

4. Bird welfare content

Our guidance on nectar and cleaning is drawn from the National Audubon Society, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and cooperative extension services, and is cited on the page. It is general information for people feeding wild birds.

It is not veterinary advice. If you find an injured, sick or distressed bird, contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator or your local wildlife authority.

5. Affiliate links

Product links on this site are affiliate links. We earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you, and every earning link is labeled. Full detail on the disclosure page.

Your purchase is a transaction between you and the retailer. We are not a party to it. We do not sell products, hold stock, take payment, ship anything, or handle returns, refunds or warranty claims — those are entirely between you and the retailer.

6. Third-party sites

We link out to manufacturers, retailers and ornithological authorities. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their products or their privacy practices.

7. Intellectual property

The text, layout and design of this site belong to Slate Mill Group. You are welcome to quote a short passage with attribution and a link. Republishing pages in full, or reproducing the site’s content at scale — including for training a model — is not permitted without permission.

Product names, brands and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Product images are supplied by the retailer’s catalog. Photography elsewhere on the site is licensed stock.

8. Limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slate Mill Group is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from a purchase made through a link on it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the updated terms.
